It is with the greatest sadness that we mourn the passing of our founder and President, Dr. Mahesan Kandaiya. Dr Kandaiya was born, raised and educated in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He was an engineering graduate of Peredeniya University and worked for IBM Sri Lanka and IBM Australia. When he retired in 2003 he founded PIMD and began his mission to provide children in rural schools in Sri Lanka with quality instruction in English. In December 2018, just one month before he died, he was awarded in Doctorate from Swinburne University in Australia. We have lost a friend, a life partner, a guide, a mentor, and an inspiring and dedicated leader.
