Register here to join next batch of our University accredited online short course “Teaching Phonological Awareness and Phonics for English in Schools” to be hosted by the University of Colombo. This online, self-directed course is designed for primary and junior secondary English teachers in Sri Lankan schools, as well as RESC staff, English ADEs, ISAs, and other Master Trainers. You will learn about the latest methods for literacy instruction based on ‘the science of reading’ including how to develop awareness of sounds in oral language as a foundation for reading and how to teach students phonics so that they can read more, faster, sooner and independently. This is the first course in the PIMD Lotus English Literacy curriculum. Teachers who pass this course are then eligible to participate in other courses.

On successful completion, participants will receive a certificate from the University of Colombo and PIMD.
