PIMD is a 100% volunteer organisation dedicated to improving the learning and teaching of English in schools in Sri Lanka.
Founded in 2004
by the late Dr. Mahesan (Tony) Kandaiya (1937-2019), our programs have evolved over the years in response to changing community needs but always remaining true to Tony’s vision.

is to empower every primary school teacher in Sri Lanka with the knowledge, skills, and resources to effectively teach English literacy skills, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to succeed.
